Far Cry 2 - Early Review Empty Far Cry 2 - Early Review

Post by CoomDaddy Tue Oct 28, 2008 12:11 am

Alright, so I picked up Far Cry 2 tonight out of boredom. I will try and give a quick opinion of the game but be forewarned, I've only played it an hour or so.

To try and describe it using other titles we all know: A cross between GTA and Assassin's Creed. I completed the first few missions which I found out were just tutorials for the actual game. So, I go into this house and get my first mission. I am supposed to go destroy some vehicles in the desert. I still haven't found the fucking desert. I am driving around some dirt roads that all look the same. My GD map is in my lap and I can't even read the SOB. To top it all off, as I drive through certain areas, all these mofo's come up and blast away at me.

All I want to do is drive the the red icon and the map and I spent a good 20 minutes attempting to do so. To top it off, there are side missions. You can go to the primary mission or do a side job because he "might have a better offer". So, two icons on the map, both unreachable. After finally succumbing to the third attack from the bush people, I'd had enough for the night.

The weapons that are unlocked to begin with are ok. You have a G3, a flamethrower, and a pistol. What little shooting I have done thus far has been mildly entertaining. The best part so far is my jeep. It has a turret in the back seat and as I am driving around searching for either the GD red or blue icon, I get to stop and try and fiend off the bush people that have chased me down. You can tear some shit up with that thing.

Anyway, I am not a pro gamer. It will take me a little while to get adjusted to this game but it seems like it might turn out ok. Give me another few days to form my final opinion.

Far Cry 2 - Early Review Empty Re: Far Cry 2 - Early Review

I've been playing this game for a couple days and seems like another sandbox game, but in 1st person. U have your main and side mission and u shoot bushmen in between.

It's not a bad game, but its been done before. The only thing I dont like so far is getting to and from the mission, it's time consuming. U go do a shoot-out, then you're travelin' back in your jeep again.

The game has alot of potential. I'm just not having the patience for it.
